Tuesday's Dream Place to visit

Sremski Karlovci

Sremski Karlovci is a place in Vojvodina, Serbia, on the Danube river, best known for preserving its 18th/19th centuries' look, including Orthodox churches, administrative and civil buildings. It played one of the key parts in the history of Serbian people after the Great Serb Migrations in the late 17th century. Due to the Turkish enslavement, which in general lasted for 5 centuries, the majority of Serbian population crossed the Danube and Sava river, to, what was then the Hasburg Monarchy, in search for salvation and preservation of the culture and faith. Thus, Sremski Karlovci became their religious center and the religious leaders also became the overall guides of the people. Today, most of the Serbian period movies and series are made here.

Why so hot? And underrated?

Here's a list of today's male actors, who we find extremely hot (we couldn't find more appropriate word, you'll see why), and surprisingly underrated.

The list is not in any particular order, except for the first two  :P

1. Richard Armitage

Marron's allowed sin. Mostly known for his role in the Hobbit series, but he stole her heart as John Thornton, in BBC's drama North and South. This mini series contains the best ever onscreen kiss, trust us. Or see it for yourselves.

2. Misha Collins

Currently Margarite's number one celebrity crush. You may know him as Castiel from Supernatural. A brilliant, generous man, who, despite a large number of minions, has a lot more to offer to the movie industry,  and the world in general.  Check out Random Acts.

3. Alexander Skarsgard

4. Tom Hardy

5. Matthew Macfadyen

6. Alessandro Preziosi

7.  Joel Edgerton

8. Daniil Strahov

9. Lee Pace

10. Dragan Mićanović

Wisdom of the Day

" You see things; and you say 'Why?' But I dream things that never were; and I say 'Why not?' "

George Bernard Shaw

There's also a song inspired by this quote. The name of the song is Il y a and the author and the singer is Vanessa Paradis.

Wisdom of the Day

"Being a geek is all about being honest about what you enjoy and not being afraid to demonstrate that affection. It means never having to play it cool about how much you like something. It's basically a license to proudly emote on a somewhat childish level rather than behave like a supposed adult. Being a geek is extremely liberating.

Inspired by Errol Flynn

Original picture from the movie Captain Blood, the first motion picture Errol and Olivia had shared the screen.

And then, there's Marron. Now, all she needs is Errol Flynn. Next time, we are definitely photoshopping her head over Olivia's.

Animal World

Marron's horseback riding lesson in Belgrade

It was a unique, never-to-be-forgotten experience, under the beautiful blue sky. But, the whole time Marron was thinking about how much she was hurting her horse, Top. Oh, and, it looks so easy when you watch it in movies and series. It is not.

Then and now

Marron is a natural brunette, but feels more like herself when she is "kissed by fire". She thinks it goes more with her artistic, poetic soul and, well, green eyes and curls. Hair color inspired by Sansa Stark and Cintia Dicker.

Margarite

And so the modeling moments continue. Hiya, Margarite here~ Wannabe artist and hair chameleon. Current haircut inspired by Miley Cyrus'. We shall see for how long it'll last. :)

Wisdom of the Day

"If you want to know what a man's like, take a good look at how he treats his inferiors, not his equals."

Harry Potter, a book series that influenced millions of children and adults alike, a story that captured our love not with just an interesting plot, but with heaps of humorous and heartfelt moments, is entwined with little pearls of wisdom, such as this. Timeless truth spoken by Sirius Black, who, maybe, should have listened better to his own words.

Peace and love,

Marron

Marron trying out a maroon lipstick and having a model moment (yeah, right)

Marron is, among other things, an amateur make-up artst and always does her own make up, as well as others'. Here she is wearing Rimmel's Lasting Finish by Kate Moss lipstick in shade 01.

Animal World

Our pets- Meeko and Lily

Meeko is a very small, extremely cute male cat who acts like a dog, and makes sounds like the famous raccoon from Disney animated film Pocahontas, which is where he got his name from. He has round eyes like a doll and adores his little yellow duck.

Marron's Meeko

When Margarite got her doggie, Lily was considered a boy for some time, so her first name was Remus. Both names derive from Harry Potter book series, which we adore. She is sliiightly bigger than Meeko and, surprisingly or not, acts like a cat. Or more so like Tigger, jumping all around the place. Also has a favorite toy, a little pink coloured cow.

Margarite's Lily

They are both so funny to watch, especially when they sleep with their tongues out and about.

Wisdom of the Day

"Dear George,

Remember no man is a failure who has friends. Thanks for the wings!

                                                        Love
                                                        Clarence."

This quote is taken from, in our opinion, one of the best movies ever made, a Hollywood's all-time classic- It's a Wonderful life. Trully deep and humorous story about dreams and love.

                                                                                                                    Peace and love,

I think I have been typecasted

This is a list of actors and actresses who, throughout their careers, suffered some serious typecasting, meaning, they very often played same characters, more or less, and some of them were quite displeased about it. Here are our thoughts, but the blog is always opened for suggestions and discussion.

Episode 1 featuring the Golden Era of Hollywood

 Marilyn Monroe

The queen of typecasting... She, herself, desired more serious roles, but the studio, unfortunately, saw her only as a blond sex goddess, with quite limited brain capacity. The image she created, with the help of the studio, unabled her to take her talent to its limits... And she did have quite a talent.

Greta Garbo

The divine Garbo always played women with cold looks, yet quite warm hearts, often torn between desires and duties... The first Anna Karenina.

Mae West

"When I'm good, I'm very good. But when I'm bad, I'm better." Mae West will always be perceived as a witty blond maneater.

Errol Flynn

The best Robin Hood ever in the history of cinematography did not drift in his career too much from what he was like in real life- adventure loving, handsome to die for, witty Don Juan... Thank God. This is probably one of the rare typecasting we approve. :)

Rita Hayworth

Similar to Mae West, Rita, thanks to her roles, created the image of extraordinary seductress, but slightly more feminine, we would say. "The Love Goddess" once said that men went to bed with Gilda and woke up with Rita.

Shirley Temple

Typecasting that ruined a career. She was never as successful as when she was a golden-hair moppet tap-dancing. Though, she is considered one of the most popular child stars in history

Olivia de Havilland

The good girl of Hollywood and Errol Flynn' s onscreen girlfriend. Olivia did get 2 Oscars, but she will always be known as the other half of the most famous love pair in the early cinematography. She herself admitted that they had an amazing chemistry, although nothing ever happened between them. "He never tried his wicked ways with me."

Simone Signoret

Not exactly a Hollwood star, but acknowledged French actress was considered Monroe for men with brains and often played women with suspicious morality and quite interesting lives. Ironically, her husband cheated on her with M.M, but they did stay together.

The idea for this entry came from Marron's own list made on Listal earlier this year.

Stay tuned for more!

Peace and love,
Marron & Margarite

Welcome message

You're now escaping into the realm of  entertaining, humorous and, as you can see, slightly pretentious views on, well, almost everything surrounding all of us. From bohemian ideals- beauty, truth and love, to more ecological matters, such as appreciation for animals and nature; from movies and music to history and art, from stye and fashion to literature and philosophy. It's not like we think we know everything, which we do, but we share extreme hunger for knowledge and new adventures.

Please, stay tuned!

Peace and love,
Marron & Margarite
